Engine swap

Hi, Does anyone know how hard it would be to swap the engine from and old merc (300td) to a 240, prob an estate? Like the free fuel of running old veg but HATE the car.

There is of course also the possibility to buy a Volvo 240 D6, with a six cilinder diesel engine already installed.

It can be done but you would need a suitable skills level - fabrication etc. I get the feeling that if you need to ask "how difficult would it be to fit?" suggests to me you would find it hard as a diy project and probably not economic to pay someone to do it for you. Regarding the D6 I believe these were only built as lhd although conversions are known - certainlky nearer a bolt in conversion than the Merc engine. Mike
