Problem when cutting media items

I had no clue how to word this otherwise I would have just looked it up, but let's say I'm editing a guitar track... I'm just slip editing. When I put my cursor over where I want to make a cut in the audio, it highlights the whole media item instead of just what I want to move. Is there a setting I must have accidentally activated? This has never happened before and it definitely screws my workflow up lol

Using this custom action: This happens: The cursor's position is where the mouse was at before I made the cut, the left side of the cut SHOULDN'T be highlight, but it is. Any idea why?

Replacing the last action with "Item: split item under mouse cursor (select right)" should do it...
