There's usually an inertia switch which sense sudden deceleration and shuts down the fuel pump. Where it is another matter altogether. My HBOL makes no reference to it. Try Google?

I didnt explain properly, I meant the airbags had deployed, so the impact was significant, and wondered if there was any trip for the fuel, I am used to working on Rovers, they have an independant trip which cuts fuel and unlocks doors upon impact. Thanks anyway, its obviously got a problem somewhere!
I understand , but volvo dont use such crude devices as a ball bearing in a cup to cut off fuel in the case of an accident it has always been done electronicaly right from the 240 in 1974 . The SRS will unlock the doors too ... Perhaps the impact affected something else , does the engine crank over ok , is there fuel pressure? Is there a spark?
