ProTools creates large audio files at random (2GB)

Hello to all, I hope there's someone out there that can help me with a reoccuring problem: my ProTools creates, at random, very large audio files (2,080,770 KB). Always the same size, always at random. Sometimes undeleteable (solved this problem), always annoying. Does anyone recognize this problem and if so, what's the solution? Thanks I could really use your help on this one.

Please try the 'General Troubleshooting' steps in the sticky at the top of this forum. If that does not solve the problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling Pro Tools. If you continue to have issues, please post your complete system specs, including any 3rd party plug-ins installed and any peripherals attached to your computer.

does your system ever freeze whilst recording?

Try reducing your disk allocation preferences to a shorter time, like 5 or 10 minutes.
