Edit Volume Level of a region without automation

I've got a section of a guitar track that needs to be a bit louder than the rest of the track but I don't want to use automation. Is there a simple way to highlight the section and increase its volume?

Or use Audiosuite "Gain".

I agree, automation is the easiest because you can change it whenever you want to. It pays to get used to using automation and it isn't as complicated as it seems at first. However, you could also bounce it to another track at a louder volume & then bounce it back to the original track (or copy & paste it in).

I'm very familiar with automation but I don't like the fact that once you put automation on a track, its a pain to change relative levels during mixing....bouncing seems the way to go...cheers
