UV Protection in 940 Window Glass

Does the original Volvo glass on 940 have some form of UV protection. I haven't been burned yet but would rather not find out the hard & painful way.

yes they are tinted for that very reason, its not a total block out as far as i know but it works

Does a window actually have to be tinted to provide UV protection? The tint is so light on car windows that I didn't think the tinting was anything more than just a tint. I thought the UV protection properties were separate to the tint. ie you could have clear glass with UV protection.
