Adding an AU plug crashes 3.101

I tried Podfarm AU, DDMF Color EQ, and the Glue and all crashed the program. Macbook, OSX 10.4.11, Reaper 3.101.

On OsX it happens to me all the time, even with VSTs. Load a plug-in, and it simply crashes the app. Reopen it, and it might work. Strange...
