Ok, let's say I'm just starting out. I have a Digi 001, my G4, my Yamaha 01v, and a dbx 576 (normally I use this just for vocals) Pre. I get the Rosetta. What's next? What else do I need to complete my little setup and start recording? Thanks for replying

I've been reading a lot about this thing and it looks like what I've been looking for to help my sound out. But in all of the information on the net, there's nothing that breaks down how you implement it into your setup. I'm trying to get an understanding as to how I would be hooking this thing up. Here's what I got: Mac G4 400 Yamaha 01v Mixer Digi001 Should I bypass this mixer that I have? Do I even need it anymore?

You would run our of the 576 into the Rosetta (analog) and then out of the Rosetta into the 001 (digital). -Duardo

Duardo is correct. You could either go into the S/PDIF input on the 001 box from the Rosetta's S/PDIF output --OR-- go into the optical input on the 001's PCI card from the optical (ADAT) out on the Rosetta. It's extremely easy. Then, in the session, on the track you're recording to you choose either an odd optical channel for the one channel on the Rosetta or an even one for the other (if you're going into the 001 via the optical input) --OR-- choose one of the S/PDIF inputs if you're going in that way. The optical route requires an optical cable; the S/PDIF can actually be done with a standard set of RCA cables, though they generally recommend a high quality RCA cable capable of high data transfew rates.
