Crash with Audio Damage plugins

Not really reproducible but from time to time Reaper is crashing when moving a plugin window with the mouse. Steps to get Reaper crashing: - Create a new track - Insert a plugin on the new track - Open the plugin window - Move the plugin window - Crash This happens on Vista Business 32 and on two different Win XP SP2 installations and with several plugins. From the crashlog it seems to be a problem with the gdiplus.dll or some graphic/window routines of Reaper. Never got that. Is this with any plugin?

Let me say it it this way: it's not a specific plugin so I think it can be any plugin. Another interesting thing is that it happens on different machines. Have to check things which are installed on all the maschines. I searched the forum and noticed some discussion about gdiplus and Wine on Linux and also a problem with a font installed on the system.

GDI+ (gdiplus) is an "enhanced" Windows graphics library that Reaper does not use at all, in any way. So that is a plugin crashing, not Reaper. Please let us know which plugins crash like this.

It is odd that it reports the module (in your first post) as gdiplus_unloaded. gdiplus is dynamically loaded by applications that use it, so maybe the error is that somehow the dll is being unloaded improperly by one particular bad-behaving plugin, which causes all other plugins that use it to crash. I think Zebra is usually pretty well behaved.

Another odd thing is that it happens on different systems (Vista 32, Win XP 32 SP2) and different maschines with different ASIO drivers (Echo Indigo IO, M-Audio Delta 192, ASIO4All 2.9) and not all the time when moving the plugin window. It must be global thing on my machines and I don't think that it is plugin related. On my DAW is no antivirus software or network installed and it is a audio optimized WIN XP installation but it happens there too.

This search: returns (in addition to your post :) ) some information about IE7 and IE8. Does the problem seem to be correlated to using IE?

I'm a Firefox user and IE8 is not installed on my DAW. Will do some more research and report here any finds.

These are the steps: - Enable 'load last project an startup' - Load a project and close Reaper - Start Reaper again, the project loads - Create a new and empty project with the toolbar button - Create a track with 'Insert -> Create instrument on new track ... ' - Move the floated plugin window - Crash Maybe this helps a little bit to track it down.
